About Me

ezimage

I am a Cape Cod, Massachusetts-based psychotherapist. I work with individual adults, couples and groups. My practice is psychoanalytically oriented, yet I use complementary methodologies to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to the unique needs and interests of each patient. Therapy is not "one size fits all."

People generally come to therapy when they sense some degree of emotional pain, suffering or stagnation and they want to look into the meaning, purpose or direction in their lives. As an interactive therapist, my approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help effectively address personal life challenges. With compassion and understanding, my work with patients involves helping to build on strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing. I am a warm, engaging and empathic individual. I provide a safe environment to examine your issues, concerns, wishes, dreams, fantasies, fears and frustrations. I believe in the strength of the connection between us to bring about understanding, change and/or, alternatively, acceptance, leading to a fuller, more satisfying life. The psychotherapeutic process is most successful when you feel you can have trust in the therapeutic relationship leading to safety and understanding. I work with adults who are motivated to explore their personal growth, development and identity at any given point across the life span. The areas of exploration include, but are not limited to, life transitions; relationship issues; pre-marital, marital and divorce matters; professional choices; parent-child relationships; counseling for those who were addicted but are in remission; eating disorders; trauma; and grief. For a more extensive list of the services I provide, see the "Services Provided" page of this website.
